My husband and I went for a wander around the Tasmanian Arboretum this morning, at the far end of the arboretum there is a New Zealand Section.

For those of you that I don't know personally, I'm a Kiwi by birth though after nearly 14 years in Australia I became a citizen in 2011, but that doesn't stop me being a Kiwi and once in a while it's nice to indulge that part of me.

NZ (in the arboretum that is) is looking a little unloved at the moment, it got hit pretty badly by the floods we had here in January and the current crop of volunteers don't seem particularly inspired by the trees of Aotearoa, may be one day I'll have some time and energy to spend there.

But still it's nice to explore a little pocket on new Zealand here in the North west of Tassie, Nathan spent more time examining the river than the plants and needed an ice-cream for being such a good helper - carrying my camera bag the whole time.
