The irony of spending australia day weekend at takanya, this ancient landscape imparts it's treasures to anyone who is willing to experience them, but more often than not is seems the people who are spending time there are not willing to know the land they just want use it for their own gratification.
Choose to experience takayna/the Tarkine show respect, feel the wonder and sadness of a country that has lost it's people. Set an example of those who disrespect it and the governments that can change this. #votetarkine

I've been here before, it's easy to get to, about and hours drive from home, but it's different every time.
This time I got a colourful sunset, my favourite tree in the whole world (tree so far, an ancient Athrotaxis cupressoides, which I'm estimating in this tree is in realm of 1000 years old) and a few fish to photograph for my efforts. I was in desperate need of some mountain therapy on New Years day, so my husband found a track with a bit of mountain and some trout potential. The walk into Lake Ada on the Edge of the Walls of Jerusalem National Park was surprisingly interesting and diverse.
